Taransay Cottage B&B at Bridge of Orchy
"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves."
John Muir, born in Scotland, 'Our National Parks'
B&B at Bridge of Orchy
Taransay Cottage is right on the West Highland Way at Bridge of Orchy and ideal for hikers and hillwalkers.
"Andy and Kirsty have actually walked the West Highland Way and full of helpful information and tips about the road ahead".
Taransay Cottage was built in 1901 as part of the Caledonian Railway line from Glasgow to Fort William and onwards to Mallaig. It is a railway worker's cottage and retains some of the original features. The cottage is next to the West Highland Railway Line, one of the top 10 rail journeys in the world. There are just a few trains per day and the occasional steam train or classic diesel excursion.
