The cottage is supplied by a private water supply owned jointly by the property owners of Bridge of Orchy. The source of this supply is a mountain stream. There is a filtration plant for the village and each property has a filter and ultraviolet treatment system. As with all private water supplies, regardless of treatment, the water should be boiled for the very young, elderly and those with compromised immune systems.
The cottage also has a private septic tank for drainage. If the water supply to the cottage fails or the drainage fails and is unavailable for more than two days, you will need to leave the accommodation for environmental health reasons and we will refund the remainder of your holiday. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.
The cottage is all electric and the heating in each room is through electric panel heaters. Each room has its own wall thermostat and heater. You should keep doors closed so that each room can control its temperature level independently. The heaters are timed and computer controlled remotely. Use the Boost button to increase the temperature in any one room for a set period. Any problems please phone. Please minimise energy use.
