The West Highland Way with our cottage in the distance.
Finding accommodation on the West Highland Way can be difficult especially when you are dividing up the route into achievable distances. You are welcome to stay overnight B&B or for a few days to recharge your batteries, nurse your blisters and set off refreshed for the rest of the route - or why not fit in a few Munros while you're here! Email us first to check Bed and Breakfast or short-stay availability.
You can find out more about the route on the Walk Highlands website.
The world famous West Highland Way long distance walk passes through Bridge of Orchy. The West Highland Way passes under the railway at the station and then past the back of our cottage. The long distance West Highland Way is one of the top walks in the world according to Wanderlust Magazine. It stretches from Milngavie near Glasgow, up past Loch Lomond and into the Highlands, ending at Fort William some 151km (96 miles) North. The route is also popular for those walking in the opposite direction.
You will pass beautiful lochs, stunning glens, and majestic Munros, including Scotland's highest mountain Ben Nevis. Locally, the West Highland Way winds its way up from Tyndrum through Bridge of Orchy, and our cottage is actually adjacent to it. Many visitors take day walks on the West Highland Way with only about a third making the entire journey. The entire route usually takes 6 or 7 days. Bridge of Orchy is a popular stopping-off point on the journey.
We have actually walked the entire West Highland Way and are happy to provide information and advice if you are planning to walk part, or all, of the route, email us.
